Win a Quilt, Do Some Good!

Twilight Saga Charity Quilt by The Twi-Quilters

Our friends the Twi-Quilters are continuing in in their tradition of giving, and are proud to present their fourth charity quilt (and ninth group quilt!) and to give Twilight fans an opportunity to win this bit of Twilight memorabilia.

This quilt includes their favorite scenes from all four of the Twilight Saga books. The group members donated all fabrics and supplies as well as volunteering their time to create this unique quilt.

Many of these patterns can be found right here on Fandom In Stitches.

The quilt is expertly and artfully finished by quilter extraordinaire, Angie, and is a beautiful keepsake for any fan of the Stephenie Meyer series.

The best part? The Twi-Quilters are giving it away to one lucky fan!

For every $5 donation, which will go directly to George Mark Children's House, you will get one chance to win the quilt this gorgeous quilt!

Please generously to this worthy cause. Donations will be accepted through March 9, 2013 and the winner will be announced by March 15, 2013.

House of Vampires

The Cullen's House
The Cullen House, by Such a Sew & Sew
6" paper pieced

Today's fabulously posh pattern comes to you from Such a Sew & Sew. Her work is always top of the line and you can see more of it here! Click on the Quilts tab for lots of eye candy!

Such a Sew & Sew is also part of a group of online quilting friends that we here at Fandom In Stitches have the utmost respect for, the Twi-Quilters. These ladies have generously given their time to make not ONE, but THREE Twilight-themed quilts that they then raffled off for charity, raising thousands of dollars for great organizations like Alex's Lemonade Stand and ChildHelp. Read more about that and look at their handiwork here.

Commenting will no longer be available on pattern archive pages (Harry Potter, Music, etc.). Comments should be posted on appropriate blog posts and you are always welcome to contact us. This change has been made to eliminate requests being made on archive pages. Only requests made on the Request page will be acknowledged. Thanks, as always, for your patience and understanding!

The Generosity of Fandom - Give To Win with Twi-Quilters

Today, we have a message for you from our friends the Twi-Quilters. Two of our Designers, Cat and Elizabeth, are members of the group, which is selling chances to win a Breaking Dawn (pt. 1) themed quilt. All proceeds go to charity.

Last year, the Twi-Quilters raised $1,800 for Alex's Lemonade Stand with their charity quilt. How amazing is that!?

Read on for more details on how you can help...and maybe win!

The following was taken from twilightquilters.org:
-------------------------

Twi-Quilters is proud to bring you the Give to Win contest once again. Last year, our Eclipse quilt raised $1800 for Alex's Lemonade Stand. This year, we have decided to pledge donations to two charities: Alex's Lemonade Stand and Childhelp. With your help, we hope to raise even more than last year.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any Twilight Saga fan! A handmade, Breaking Dawn (Part 1) themed quilt made by the members of the  Twi-Quilters . Just in time for the movie release and Christmas!

To make it extra special, the quilt has 8 autographs from the saga’s actors: Peter Facinelli (Carlisle), Booboo Stewart (Seth Clearwater), Alex Meraz (Paul), Gil Birmingham (Billy Black), Tinsel Korey (Emily), Guri Weinberg (Stefan), Patrick Brennan (Liam) and Bill Tangradi (Randall).

For every $5 increment donation, you get a chance to win. Give $5, get 1 chance, give $20, get 4 chances... The more you give, the more chances you have of winning!!!

Donations will be accepted from October 28th 2011 until December 10th 2011. The winner will be announced on December 12th 2011. We promise not to share your personal info with any other party. Your name will be posted on our website and blog if you are the winner, but nothing more. Remember to make sure your email address is available to us through your PayPal account so we can contact you if you win.

Please give generously, and who knows! You might have this gorgeous quilt in your hands!!! (Former and current members of Twi-Quilters and their immediate family members are not eligible to win).

50% of your donations will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) and and the other 50% will go to Childhelp. All proceeds for ALSF benefit research in childhood cancer. Proceeds for Childhelp go towards prevention and treatment of child abuse. Great causes, great prize! Thank you for your generosity, and good luck!

Please head over to our quilt site here for more details and to be apart of this.

Please help share the word and put a link http://www.twilightquilters.org/ on your craft blog!

Pomp, Vampires and a Challenge Revisited

Graduation from Forks High
designed by Catherine Magraith and Such A Sew and Sew

Ah, graduation! It's what so many of us dream of as high school students. It's the closing of one door and the opening of another.

For Bella, it was a wee bit bigger than that...

Enjoy this fabulous new free pattern, Graduation from Forks High School, designed by Catherine Magraith and Such A Sew and Sew.

I just love the tassel!

Quileute Tattoo Quilt Block
Speaking of Twilight Patterns, we here at Fandom In Stitches issued a challenge almost two weeks ago. This challenge is an open-ended offer of a prize for the first person to make and post the Quileute Tattoo block to the FiS Flickr Group.

Why the random challenge? Well, the block is awesome, but it's also complex; in a word, challenging, but we also really want you to give it a try!

Team Werewolf Buttons
The original post offered up these buttons as the prize. They're professionally made and pretty darn spiffy, but we thought it would be awesome to sweeten the deal.

In addition to the Team Werewolf buttons, the person that takes up the challenge and posts the first photo of a finished version of the Quileute Tattoo pattern to the FiS Flickr Group will win this awesome 27" x 40" Eclipse poster!

A good friend to FiS has supplied us with some fantastic fandomy posters, which you will see as prizes for future challenges and giveaways... so jump in and make a block! You have a week until There and Back Again, and a little piecing will keep your mind off the wait!
