Originally dubbed "The Project of Doom," our Harry Potter Bookcase Quilt originates in 2011 with Fandom in Stitches Founder Jennifer Ofenstein.
First on Fandom in Stitches in 2011, we rebooted the event in 2015 and it has continued to grow ever since to include many community designs as well as other genres:

Useful Info (lots of FAQs here!) for the original PoD (2011 & 2015) patterns:
For 10" blocks only, you'll need approximately
1/2 of yard of background fabric PER 5 blocks.
- Click on the pattern image or title for the pattern. 2015 patterns designed by Jennifer Ofenstein include all patterns and/or instructions for all versions.
- For best results print with NO SCALING. In Google Drive (where this file is hosted) uncheck “fit to page.” See your printer instructions for more details if needed. Scale is included on every page for your convenience.
- On the actual pattern, WHITE indicates the background fabric. All other colors are approximate representations, but you are welcome to use any fabric colors you may choose.
- For the original PoD (2011 or 2015), you will need approximately 3 yards of background fabric for individual blocks plus an optional quilt border. You'll also need various amounts of scrap fabrics for books and magical objects. Fabric amounts to complete your quilt are included with the layout instructions.
