Star Trek - Wesley Crusher's Top

Hello, friends! Photobucket, where we hosted our photos when we first started fandominstitches.com back in 2011, has changed their terms of service, and now ALL of our previously hosted images are broken. We are aware of the problem and will replace the images through our current host as quickly as we can. Please know that we are volunteers and we do as much as we can when we can. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

Klingon Bat'leth

Klingon Bat'leth

 Designed by Vanda Chittenden

10 x 10 inch excluding seam allowance
Paper Pieced

"The bat'leth, or "sword of honor", was a traditional Klingon blade weapon. It was widely considered the most popular weapon among Klingon warriors."
This pattern is the Bat'leth, that plays a big roll in Star Trek the Next Generation and then in Deep Space 9. It was Worf's most prized possession.

Welcome back to another Star Trek pattern!
This pattern is the Borg Queen from Star Trek, she appears in several episodes of The Next Generation and Voyager, and in the movie First Contact.

I have been working on this pattern for some time now, and have been delaying sharing it until the time was perfect.
As all of you should know (shame on you if you don't), that it was our Fearless leader's birthday at the end of April. So what to do?
The pattern is the perfect size for a wall hanging, but can easily be turned into a small quilt with some borders.
Jennifer Ofenstein loves Star Trek just as much as I do, so this was the perfect gift to make.
There is a bit of a tongue in cheek reference here,  as I added the words on the sides, Resistance is futile, join the FIS collective. FIS stands for Fandom in Stitches.

So what I tried to say here is Jennifer is our Borg Queen, who assimilates people into the collective. Once you join, you will never leave.
Just for fun, I am including my video to Jennifer about the wall hanging and Jennifer's video where she shares the gift with us.
This is me!

And this is Jennifer our FIS Queen

 And the Borg Queen

(Please take note, that the words on the side is not included in the pattern, if you would like the words, please put in a request and I will put something together for you)

Have an awesome crafty week.

Make it so!

Stylized TNG Uniform
by Jennifer Ofenstein
6" x 8" paper pieced
also available on sewhooked.com

I recently had the great pleasure of creating a surprise swap for Vanda, another of our Fandom in Stitches Designers. Because she and I are both big Star Trek fans, I decided to create a fun wall hanging out of one of my favorite hand embroidery pieces, the Picard Sampler I created during the Summer of Stitching in 2014.

Picard Sampler for Vanda

The simple paper pieced block above combined beautifully with my stitch to create a stylized Captain's uniform for this simple wall hanging.
