THEFT ALERT!

Los Angeles Needleworks is selling PATTERNS AVAILABLE FOR FREE taken from all over the internet, including those from Fandom In Stitches and more.

Please, PLEASE support your indie designers and free patterns online and DO NOT purchase anything from them. We would very much appreciate it you could spread the word and help stop this theft.

  2. It's unbelievable the things people will do (as if they won't get caught, too).

  3. If you have published it online, I wonder if that establishes a copyright? You can get a lawyer to draft a strongly worded letter to them to have them cease sales.

  4. I had someone steal my blog post. So aggravating! Here is a post that might help you a bit, I know it helped me. http://www.bloggingbasics101.com/2011/09/what-do-when-someone-steals-your-blog-post/. I don't know if it would help with pattern theft, but theft is theft. Hope you get it straightened out!

  5. I shared the link to my friends. And it really makes me angry. The designers work much to hard to have someone steal them to sell. :(

  6. this is just blatant theft and it makes me mad! >:(

  7. I sent them an email and posted on facebook. I would say that they are dirty, rotten scoundrels but that expression has already been used (minor bit of humour for something unreservedly not funny).

  8. Since it is so late in the evening, I will share your blog post on my blog first thing in the morning! This is outrageous! I'm definitely spreading the word!

  9. Unbelieveable. All of those who are on facebook and twitter please spread the word and put shame on them!

  10. Just received in my email from someone else I warned about this:

Thank you Samantha, so much, for looking out for me!
I found this through the "whois" site, it's LA Neelework's domain host/server.

    https://www.domainsbyproxy.com/Default.aspx

Please pass along the link to anyone else you think may have stolen pattern on her site. Everyone should click on "File a Claim" and there is a place to report any of their websites that host copyrighted or trademark-infringing materials. I've already reported them, and I hope they get a RASH of reports on this heifer before the day is over!!

Thank you again. There are some real scumbags on the internet, but thankfully a lot of wonderful people like yourself and the other bloggers who have been so kind to let me know this happened. I would never have known otherwise!

  11. I just wrote them a letter, telling them just how despicable I think they are! And blogged about it too.
    Sorry this happened to you.
I had another so-called artist steal one of my images of a pastel painting. I know it sucks!

  12. I was away from the internet yesterday and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this post this morning! Unbelievable!! This makes me so mad!!

  13. It's beyond ridiculous! I am discouraging others from supporting them as well and sent an email accusing said 'business owner' of theft.

  14. I sent them a comment letting them know how I felt about stealing. Well, I was going to make a blog post about it just now, and when I went to click on the link, it says that the account has been suspended. Yipee!

  15. Just unbelievable!

Have to note that it seems the reporting has worked - I tried to click the link and it says "Account Suspended".
