Wishing for Harry Potter

Charity Project of Doom

The very wonderful crafters over at HarryPotterCrafts are working on a special project for Make-A-Wish!

Samantha is a 3rd grader from the Pacific Northwest. She very much wants to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but is undergoing chemo and can't go quite yet.

In the meantime, they have enlisted the help of the Harry Potter Crafting community to create handmade Harry Potter goodness for her. You are all invited to participate by making a handmade item to send to Samantha via HarryPotterCrafts! Click the link and join the group to find out more.

I would personally like to invite you to work on a group project for this special event as part of Fandom In Stitches.

I am collecting Project of Doom blocks made of bright colors on a white background. The parameters will be the same as when we made the PoD for charity last year:
  • Sign up via this spreadsheet. Please include only your first name and last initial as the spreadsheet is public.
  • Use a solid bright white OR white on white fabric for the background with bright colors for the books, etc.
  • Send completed 10.5" blocks to Fandom In Stitches c/o Jennifer Ofenstein. Email me for the street address. (ofenjen@fandominstitches.com)
  • Mail your block(s) by April 18, 2014. I know this is short notice, but we want a fast turn around and the blocks will still need to be pieced, quilted and bound. If you are shipping internationally to the U.S., please make a note in the spreadsheet.
  • Make as many blocks as you like, extras will be used to create quilts for The Linus Connection.
  • Join HarryPotterCrafts to participate in the very special hand crafting and to be part of an excellent Harry Potter Craft community.
And most of all, THANK YOU! This community is so giving in general and I knew when this special request came up that you all would be ready and willing to help!

I will, of course, post lots of photos of the quilt we create.

Any questions? Just ask!
