Land Before Time QAL-Last Post!

Thank you to everyone who has gone on this journey! I'm loving all the blocks and tops y'all are sharing in the group, and the enthusiasm and feedback everyone has had. Hosting my first quilt along has been a great experience, and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. If you're just now finding or starting the quilt, please join us on Facebook! The group won't be going anywhere (especially not while I have my own quilt to finish!). 

For our last week, I have three bonus blocks. The movie title is designed to fit the length of your quilt top. Mother and the flyer with his treat are both 15" square, so they are interchangeable with all the other character/location blocks. More bonus blocks will be released throughout the year, as they're tested.

Land Before Time - Week 11

Welcome to week 11!

Final Layout

If you're making only the sample quilt, this is your week to finish! You received the fabric requirements in the weeks leading up to the quilt along, but if you need them again here you go (1 & 1/8 yards each of orange and green fabrics for your sashing).

My color choices were inspired by the Great Valley. So much of the film is dark (there's an apocalypse happening, after all), and I wanted the finished quilt to have the hopeful, bright Grand Canyon-orange and leafy green colors of the Valley. 

Next week bonus blocks will be released and, sadly, that will be the end of our journey. I hope everyone has enjoyed the trip!

If you're making the quilt along sample quilt, you will need 16 tree stars for your cornerstones. Unless you're waiting for bonus blocks to enlarge you quilt, this is your FINAL block! Next week the layout guide will be published so you can begin assembly. 

Signature Blocks

A small favor: If you've participated in an FiS quilt along before, you know they often include a signature block. I would like to invite all Land Before Time participants to make an extra tree star, signed with your name and town, to make a commemorative quilt. Information on where to mail them will be provided in our Facebook group.

Design Invitational

Calling all designers! I will be releasing bonus blocks in two weeks. If you would like to design more patterns for The Land Before Time (maybe from the sequel movies?) please join in on the fun!
