Welcome, friends, Time Lords, & Companions as we celebrate a month (or maybe two!) of Doctor Who! We'll be including all the patterns you see above with maybe a couple of surprises!
On Fridays today through November, and maybe even December, designer Jeanie Payment (@jeaniepayment on IG) will share these phenomenal patterns for you to make! Later on, we'll share a simple layout that will give you the opportunity to choose your favorites and make your own quilt.

Welcome to the first ever hand embroidery stitch-along on Fandom In Stitches!
Join us in celebrating a half century of our favorite Doctor!
Each block starts with a hand embroidered design and ends with fun, easy-to-piece block instructions! After 12 weeks, stitch your blocks together for a fun and fabulous a Doctor Who themed quilt!
Without further ado, we are pleased to introduce The First Doctor!
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 yard fabric for block centers, cut into 10 or 12" strips (whether you need more or less is up to you and how you want to hoop your fabric)
2/3 yard dark fabric, cut into 2 1/2" strips x WOF*
2/3 yard light fabric, cut into 2 1/2" strips x WOF
You can also use scraps, just follow the directions below. Jelly rolls will work great, too!
*WOF = Width of Fabric (usually 40 - 44" wide)
Subcutting:
12 - 10" - 12" for block centers (after stitching, these will be squared up to 8 1/2" x 8 1/2", the extra is for easier hooping)
24 - 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" strips from dark fabric
22 - 2 1/2" x 8 1/2" from light fabric
48 - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" blocks from light fabric
Stitch 2 1/2" squares to each end of the 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" dark sashing as shown.
Trim seam allowance if desired.
Open triangles and press.
Repeat for all 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" dark sashing (can be chain pieced).
Use these piecing instructions for all blocks. Use diagrams below for center block orientation. Use 1/4" seam allowance throughout.
