I have been quilting for over 30 years, and found FiS about 10 years ago when searching for some sort of bookshelf quilt pattern. I started with the Project of Doom, and was quickly hooked on paper piecing and FiS patterns!
I’ve used several of the FiS patterns now, including Disney princesses, Game of Thrones, Nightmare before Christmas, Disney villains, Labyrinth, Hocus Pocus, and Dr. Who. I have plans to do a D & D quilt for my oldest who just got their own place, and an Alice in Wonderland (classic movie) quilt as a wall hanging. Most of my quilts are hanging in my house…I have no more wall space! But I have given some as gifts as well.
I enter at least one quilt in the Delaware state fair each year, and the FiS ones are always the talk of the fair!
I became a FiS pattern tester a couple of years ago (looking at you Jeanie Payment) which has been really fun and challenging. I tried my hand at designing, but it’s not my jam. Thank you so much to the designers and other testers and to Jen for creating and maintaining this site and providing free patterns! I don’t know what I’d be doing now without the community.
