Week 8
This week we have the fabric requirements as well as the next block.
You should have all completed (or plan to complete) 13 princesses. If you want to make the Quilt bigger to fit in Extra Princesses I suggest you wait until you see the final pattern.
The Overall Quilt Design will be a Castle.
The Finished Quilt Size is 58 inches x 82 inches
Additional Fabrics Required for the Design
(I have taken all measures to ensure that my calculations for fabrics are correct)
Blue for the Sky - 1 yard (90 cm)
Green for the Grass - 5 inches (15 cm)
3 colours for the main castle building - I used different shades of Brown.
Light - 45 Inches (120 cm)
Medium - 45 Inches (120 cm)
Dark - 8 Inches (20 cm) - Used on the Door Only
The Door uses the Medium and the Dark Colour.
Turrets - Choose your own colour - I used Light Purple and Dark Purple.
Light - 1/2 Yard (50cm)
Dark - 12 Inches (40cm)

(I thought it would be better to give you the sizes of the pieces you will need this week)
Green
8 1/2 x 4 1/2 - 2 pieces
2 1/2 x 4 1/2 - 2 pieces
10 1/2 x 4 1/2 - 1 pieces
Dark Turret Colour (will mostly be paper pieced)
Don't Cut these pieces until you have the pattern as they are approximate and they are paper pieced.
9 1/2 x 4 - 2 pieces
5 1/2 x 7 1/4 x 9 - 2 pieces (right angle triangle)
You can cut these pieces:-
2 1/2 x 2 1/2 - 2 pieces
Light Turret Colour (will be mostly paper pieced)
Don't Cut these pieces until you have the pattern as they are approximate and they are paper pieced.
13 1/2 x 13 1/2 x 16 - 2 pieces (isosceles triangle)
You can cut out these pieces:-
2 1/2 x 3 1/2 - 6 pieces
Blue for Sky (will be mostly paper pieced)
Don't Cut these pieces until you have the pattern as they are approximate and they are paper pieced :-
17 1/4 x 13 x 21 1/2 - 2 pieces (right angle triangle)
14 1/4 x 10 3/4 x 18 - 2 pieces (right angle triangle)
2 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 5 1/4 - 2 pieces (right angle triangle)
9 1/2 x 4 - 2 pieces
remnants will then be used for piecing triangles 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 5 1/4 - 2 pieces
You can cut out these pieces:
2 1/2 x 44 1/2 - 2 pieces
(these will need to be joined as they are wider than the fabric width, I would do 20 1/2 and 24 1/2)

You can paper piece using one piece or cut into the following strips
1 1/2 x 6 1/2 - 2 pieces
1 1/2 x 8 - 2 pieces
10 1/2 x 2 1/2 - 2 pieces
6 1/2 x 2 1/2 - 1 piece
9 x 2 1/2 - 1 piece
2 1/2 x 8 1/2 - 2 pieces
5 1/2 x 2 1/2 - 1 piece
3 1/2 x 2 1/2 - 1 piece
