I'm pleased to share this Project of Doom mini quilt, created from the remaining blocks from our PoD Block Drive for charity! Thank you AGAIN to everyone that participated. Whether your block ended up in the larger or smaller quilt, know that it will be loved! This smaller version will be quilted and donated to a child in need through The Linus Connection on behalf of Fandom In Stitches.
Tomorrow is the eighth week in the Doctor Who Stitch along and we'll be introducing a brand new designer! Make sure to stop by!
We'd like to take this opportunity to invite you, yes YOU, to become a designer for the Doctor Who Stitch Along celebrating 50 years of our favorite Doctor by sharing your own Doctor Who-inspired embroidery designs! Here are the details:
The Doctor Who Stitch Along Design Invitational
- Design an original Doctor-Who themed hand embroidery pattern to supplement theFandom In Stitches Doctor Who Stitch Along designs (all 12 designs will be online by July 31, 2013).
- Patterns can be 3" - 8".
- Test your pattern and take a photo. Only tested patterns will be included on the here on FiS.
- Post your stitched design and a link to your PDF pattern* in our flickr group no later than Monday, August 5, 2013. (*If you don't have your own blog or website, not to worry, just email your pattern to ofenjen@fandominstitches.com and we'll post it here!)
- PDF patterns can be hand drawn or created using graphic design software. For more information see Be A Designer.
- Tag your flickr photo "DWSAL DESIGN" so we know to include it on the website.
- On Wednesday, August 7, 2013, all Design Invitational patterns will be posted right here on Fandom In Stitches to share with our quilting community!
- Submitted designs will be included in special drawing, prize to be announced!
- Questions? Leave them in comments!
Join Lilja the first Friday of each month as she and her fellow designers lead you on a quilting journey! It's never too late to join in! To see all the blocks from this wonderful event, visit our Hobbit/LotR page.

The first Friday of each month in 2013!
Curious: is there any way we can change the privacy on the FB group? I know it's supposed to be open to everyone, but I'd also like to be able to post the DW SAL pics of what I'm doing without the person I'm making it for being able to see it :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, no. I looked into it, and because it's such a large group, if I change it to private, FB won't let me change it back. I'd suggest saving up your photos until you gift your project. Sorry I couldn't help.
